Circle card

It's been forever since my last blog post, I promise to make my post a little bit more regular in future :-) So as a peace offering I thought I should do two posts today, here is the first!

Some of you may know, I got a Cuttlebug ; but silly me didn't order the dies to go with it and had to wait till they finally arrived after I ordered them a week after I purchased the Cuttlebug. I have also been really busy travelling and catching up with some designing and well you know how it goes... So finally its the weekend and I got time to make a card with my new Spellbinders circle dies! I love these circle cards, so much more fun than regular sized ones..

For this card I used the 'Mi Casa' stamp set by Hero Arts. I love the pretty sentiments that come with this set, they fit so beautifully on circle cards. Totally plan to make some more cards with it soon..

I started off by cutting a circle card with the biggest circle in the pack and cut another nesting smaller circle to do my stamping on. I used the Lime Rickey 6x6 pad (Basic Grey) to cut out a background paper for the card the same size as the card base to cover the front completely.

I used my Ranger distress inks and gave a small border to the nesting circle to add definition to the edge and stamped all the images on white card stock and coloured with Copics. I coloured them in cut them out and paper pieced the card and added my sentiment.

Finally I used a piece of yarn and made the hanging bit of the birdcage:-)

Here's a close up of the card, the little bird house stamp is by Penny Black goes so well with the birds from the Mi Casa set..

Hope you enjoyed this fun card, I had so much fun making it:-)
Also stay tuned for the next post later today...
Till then, Happy Stamping!

Thank you card

I wanted to make a card with the new Prima stamps that i ordered. I love the music notes and the very detailed bird, this set is super versatile and i am very happy with it.

This is the layout that i created.
The bird was stamped on some American Crafts paper. (I used the reverse side which was plain pinkish card stock) The background in green is the front of that same paper.

I gave dimension to the card by lifting up the bird using scotch dimensional mounting tape.

Here's a closer look at the bird...

The supplies were:

Prima stamp set, Letterbox paper by American Crafts, Black Bazzil card stock, Cream Bazzil card stock, sentiment stamp is from Hero arts 'Everyday sayings' set.

Happy stamping!!

Submission for 'Patterned paper in every way' at Two Peas.

Hi,

Just thought i should do a quick post on a submission i made to a patterned paper challenge on Two Peas in a Bucket. Its not a new card ( i made it about two weeks ago) , but since its one of my favourites I thought i should share it with you guys:-)
Its a circle card and i love making them 'cos they are so tiny and fun to make! Its all cut by hand, we were not allowed to use anything but scissors for this challenge. (Not like i own anything fancy anyhow!! he he)
I have been wanting a Circle cutter by Martha Stewart for ages and finally decided to get one after a recommendation i got from a friend from the Two Peas member gallery. So its yet to arrive, and i am eagerly waiting for it.
Let me know what you use to cut circles, I would love to hear from you:-)
